Camp David
From bare ground to still water
The pond started as an idea and a lot of dirt work. Over time it became one of the most peaceful spots on the property — a place to watch the seasons change, see wildlife come and go, and just slow down for a while.
Excavation
Getting the pond started meant moving a lot of earth. The excavator carved out the basin over several days, shaping the banks and making room for the water to settle in.
Filling In
Once the digging was done, nature took over. Rain and runoff slowly filled the basin. Watching the waterline rise was one of those slow satisfactions that's hard to explain until you've seen it.
Life Around the Water
It didn't take long for the pond to attract visitors — birds, frogs, deer coming down to drink at dusk. The water brought the whole property to life in a way nothing else could.
